Week of Feb 8th

As we begin discussing in class:

• What is a collection? To me, a collection is anything you have multiples of, something you cherish, and desire more of, in some cases.

• What should you collect? You can collect anything that you have interest in, from a button to gold. That would be your personal preference what you choose to collect. Herb and Dorthy collected everythng, the only requirement was that it fit in their Apt, and they could get it home. Not much to ask.

• Where can you get art?You can get art from many many sources. The first place you can get art is by making it yourself. Nothing is better than making it yourself, something you can cherish, or even make a profit fom down the road. Another was of getting artwork is by buying it, going to local festivals and such. Artists sell their work at galleries as well. Herb and Dorthy even went to the extent of "babysitting" an artist's cat, in exchange for a piece of their artwork! How Funny! Talk about dedication to the love of artwork! How do you collect it? By purchasing, or like stated above by trading sevices, not commonly known such as pet sitting. Here is a link on collecting art.

• What is a collector's responsibility to the art and even the artist? The a collector's responsibility to the art and even the artist to cherish, and respect the artwork. See eveyone in class!
