COLLECTION #8

-Artist: Willem de Kooning
-Born in Rotterdam, Holland but later settling in Long Island
-His main work of expression was in abstact work
-The next eight years of learning art at the Rotterdam Academy of Fine Arts and Techniques
-Came in the United States in 1926
-Settled In Manhattan
-His work was full of colours and textures. He is said to work in a  combination of expressionism and traditional forms
-Later in his career, he shifted his focus from abstract art  to human forms and landscapes
- I studied this artist because I loved his "Black Abstact Art". To me, it displays a liquid, possibly disolving in a glass. I love this piece of abstract work! To me, its similar to Destiny's and Susan's work, being abstract.
