New Spraypaint Artist/NYC

Spray paint art is an  art form using spray paint, traditionally on posterboard, but can be done on any other materials that are non-porous material, such as wood, metal, glass, ceramic or plastic. It is different from graffiti art in that grafitti are performed on buildings, trains and the like, as opposed to more traditional art surfaces. I happened to find a new artist on youtube. Its spraypaint art. Based in New York City I think its amazing!

The backround:of spray paint art is a unique form of art that is generally performed on the street in large metropolitan cities creating surreal landscapes of planets, comets, pyramids, cities, nature scenes as well as simple one-colored backgrounds or even multi-colored backgrounds where the paint swirls together or fades from one color to the other through a series of differing values.

The Process: The artist will start by creating a mental layout in his or her head of how they want their picture to go, like all artists do.  The artist needs to know where specific details will go (such as planets, trees, mountains, stars, haze, water, etc.)in order to layer the colors appropriately and in the right places.
The techniques is a series of well placed layers and textures, predetermined blocking and masking using the lids, bowls and recycled objects. For the best turnout the artist should take advanage of all the elements  of art!

UB ANDERSON EXCURSION

We just came back from the UB Anderson Art Gallery. As always, this class is the one out of all my classes I enjoy the most! Getting out in the community and acctually experiencing art leaves an impression on you, rather than an instructor yacking their head off, and in a few weeks you forget it anyways! What we  do leaves an impression on you, introducing us to the art scene in our community! I wish all my professors believed in Prof. Greenan's teaching style! Kudos to Prof. Greenan's style! As usual, with my recent posts, I try to find a video to make it more interesting...and fun...so, I found a video, that reminds me of our class...its kind of funny....check it out! Its a fun class! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVMI8nb3mCM&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PLB85BAB0F6CF27225

Every teacher has a different teaching style, but Prof. Greenan makes it so it is impossible to forget the lectures and excursions! As usual....Great Excursion! Thanks! Feel The Rush!
